The 6 Best Apps Every Aucklander Needs

These apps making living in Auckland a whole lot easier. To save some extra bucks and to save time, download these apps from the app store or play store today.

1. AT Mobile

This app from Auckland Transport helps you plan your journey on public transport. It also provides real time data, so you can check if your bus is running early or late. This app has saved me so many times as I would run to the bus stop faster to get there before the bus. Stop playing a guessing game, be in the know with AT Metro. The app is constantly being updated with new features, making it easier and easier to get around on public transport.

2. AT Park

Another game changer, the AT park app lets you pay for your parking via the app without any card fees and without scrambling for loose change. You can check how much parking is left on your car and add extra right from your phone!

3. Lime, Flamingo or Onzo

Why walk when you could have wheels? Whether you prefer an electric scooter or a bicycle, you can unlock either with the app on your phone, get to your destination quickly and easily.

4. Gaspy

We have all felt a little despair as the 10c regional fuel tax made our wallets a little lighter. And even worse is the feeling when you fill up for $2.14 and the next petrol station you see is at $2.08. Work smarter, not harder. With the gaspy app, you can see where the cheapest petrol is in Auckland, ranking by price or by distance. Never choose the wrong petrol station again!

5. Foodprint

This app launched earlier in the year and is already one of my favourites. You know when your favourite bakery throws out food at the end of the day? This app lets you snatch up those pastries at a fraction of the price, reducing food waste. It’s a win-win situation! You’re stopping that food from going to landfill, while also scoring yourself a bargain & a delicious meal!

6. Groupon or GrabOne

With such a variety of deals on these discount voucher apps, you’re bound to find something that’s just right for you. I’ve gotten discounts for hot pools, paddleboarding and three-course dinners. There are constantly deals coming up - for car servicing, mani & pedis… you name it, they’ve got it. Get saving!
